DIY Balustrade Coffee Table.

In a previous post I wrote about the failed shopping in Zgalerie, this will be alluded to the sofa which was then we bought. In January, after the decision of  keeping  damaged sofa, my husband decided to build the coffee table.

It could not be anything simple and plain, after long reflection, we decided on the balustrade coffe table such as the one from Restration Hardware. After searching the internet I found plans on: http://jenwoodhouse.com/diy-restoration-hardware-balustrade-coffee-table-1/ and I ordered the most expensive element of the table here coffee table balustrade legs Our enrichment of this project was to damage the wood, so it  looks like reclaimed wood. My husband finished his part of the work in mid-February, then I had to paint it. After 5 months finally I can show our versions of the RH Balustrade Coffee Table.

I have no pictures from building and finishing  (who takes the pictures in  messy garage), I'll just say that first I used a diluted gray paint (as a base, not evenly more of dry brushing and wiping off) then Minwax dark walnut stain left for couple of minutes then wipe, and kona stain quick wipe on wipe off. For protection I used top coat that used our floor refinishing guy to finish our floors. Like with my other projects I'm not too fast, but for excuse I can say that taking care for a one year old child (yes Gabi is  already one )  is quite absorbing, and meanwhile we demolished and rebuild our kitchen, which makes me very happy, but  this will be my next post.
Until  next time.
                            Jadwiga.
