After couple of days on painting and making upholstered back panel, we end up with this:
When I found out that we are going to have another girl, I started to look out for inspirations for nursery.
From the beginning I knew that I will go with white, gray and pink color scheme, but not with soft, powder pink, my choose was a fuchsia pink. I chose Benjamin Moore color named Thundercloud Gray, and for accent wall and dresser (from craiglist) Hot Lips - beautiful magenta color, both colors matched at Home Depot for Behr paint and primer . Area rug is from Overstock.com. I would love to get upholstered crib like this: dream crib - but price is a killer, and we already had Maia's crib, so I decided to beautify what I have. Whole crib is painted in soft gray found on Oops paint shelf in Menards, and fabric is from Fabric.com named Eroica Milano Velvet Raspberry. When I was 8 moths pregnant I decided to buy Strandmon arm chair from Ikea and use it as a nursing chair, and that was bad idea. This chair for me is so uncomfortable that over a six months I used only couple of time. With crib we started with similar to this (I don't have picture of my crib before):
found on internet
Here you can read more about Crib project: Diy upholstery crib.
Later I also ordered more of this fabric to build a tufted valance box for window. Picture ledges I made according to plans from Ana White 10 dollar ledges. Here how nursery looks now :
Candle holdres on the sides of windows was updated too. I bough them for $6 a piece at Old Time Pottery, they were black and mirror looked just like a new mirror. After spray painting of frame in plain white, I used paint stripper, and bleach for mirror insert, and I end up with very antique looking addition for nursery. Candles are LED remote controlled with timer , and I'm using them as a night light.
Here's before
And that's how it looks rights now:
Thanks for stopping by.
